Plot Summary

Jane Hoskins (Greer Garson) is a sharp-witted handmaiden employed in the household of Lord Minden and his haughty wife Lady Sybil. When Lady Minden’s earrings go missing, Jane is immediately accused of the theft. The real culprit turns out to be Nigel Duxbury (Michael Wilding), Lord Minden’s charming but penniless younger twin brother, who received only a fraction of the family fortune because his brother was born five minutes earlier.
