Plot Summary

Dr. Henryk Savaard (Boris Karloff) is a brilliant and visionary scientist who has invented a mechanical heart — a device that can keep a body alive after clinical death and ultimately restore full life. At his trial, he desperately tries to explain that his assistant volunteered and that the experiment would have succeeded if the police had not interrupted at the critical moment. The execution is carried out. Dr. Savaard is hanged until dead and his body is taken away.
