Plot Summary

Sam Martin (Audie Murphy) is a struggling charter boat captain operating out of Key West, Florida. Business is poor, debts are mounting, and his devoted wife Lucy (Patricia Owens) watches with growing anxiety as their financial situation deteriorates. Sam is an honest man who has worked hard to build a legitimate business, but the waters off the Florida Keys harbor temptations that test even the most principled.

Into Sam’s life comes Hanagan (Eddie Albert), a seemingly affable American who charters Sam’s boat for a fishing trip. But Hanagan is far more than he appears — he is an arms dealer planning to smuggle a shipment of weapons to revolutionary forces in Cuba.
