Plot Summary

In fair Verona, two noble households — the Montagues and the Capulets — have feuded for generations, filling the city’s streets with violence and hatred. When young Romeo Montague (Leslie Howard) attends a masked ball at the Capulet house, he encounters Juliet Capulet (Norma Shearer) and both are struck by an overwhelming, instantaneous love that transcends the ancient enmity between their families.
