Plot Summary

Serafina Delle Rose (Anna Magnani) worshipped her husband Rosario. When Rosario is killed while smuggling contraband, Serafina seals herself inside their house with his ashes, refusing to emerge, rejecting all human contact, and transforming her grief into a religion.
