Plot Summary

In the final days of Tsarist Russia, Baron Dobrinsky lives a life of extraordinary privilege and casual decadence. Tanya, driven by her fierce love for the Baron, follows him into exile in Constantinople, where the former Russian aristocrats have gathered in a miserable community of displaced grandeur.
