Plot Summary

In 1661, Baron Vitelius d’Estera (Abel Salazar) stands before the Holy Inquisition of Mexico, condemned to death for witchcraft, sorcery, and heresy. As the flames consume him at the stake, the Baron curses his judges and their descendants, vowing to return and exact terrible vengeance. Overhead, a comet streaks across the night sky, bearing witness to his dying oath.

Three hundred years later, in 1961, the comet returns to Earth — and with it comes the Baron, resurrected and hungry for revenge. He assumes the appearance of a charming aristocrat, reintegrating himself into Mexico City’s high society, where the descendants of the Inquisitors now live as prominent citizens. But beneath his suave exterior lurks a terrible secret: the Baron is a brain-eating monster who transforms into a hideous creature with a pulsating forked tongue, using it to extract and consume the brains of his victims.

One by one, the Baron identifies and eliminates the descendants of the men who condemned him. He seduces their wives, befriends their husbands, and then strikes with horrifying savagery — his face contorting into a nightmarish visage as he feeds on their brains, which he keeps in an ornate goblet like a connoisseur savouring fine wine. The police investigation, led by a determined detective (David Silva), circles ever closer to the Baron, but his supernatural powers make him seem untouchable.

The climax builds as the last surviving descendants and the police close in on the Baron’s mansion, leading to a spectacular confrontation between science and sorcery, justice and vengeance, in which the comet that gave the Baron his power may also hold the key to his destruction.
