Plot Summary

An escaped convict steals a clergyman’s clothing from a riverbank and, thus disguised, boards a train to a small Texas border town. Upon arrival, he is immediately mistaken for the new minister who has been expected by the local congregation, and the hapless fugitive is swept into his new role before he can protest or escape.
