Plot Summary

Dr. Jeff Burton is an ordinary young physician whose life is turned upside down in a single night when circumstances conspire to make him the prime suspect in the murder of a prominent scientist. The dead man was involved in top-secret military research, and the circumstances of his death — combined with Jeff’s inability to explain his presence at the scene — make him look overwhelmingly guilty to both the police and the military intelligence officers investigating the case.

With no one willing to believe his protestations of innocence and the evidence stacking up against him, Jeff realises that his only hope is to find the real killer himself before the authorities catch him. He becomes a man on the run, using his intelligence and resourcefulness to stay one step ahead of the massive manhunt that has been launched to bring in the suspected murderer of a national defence scientist.
