Plot Summary

Daniel Forsythe IV is a wealthy, sheltered, and somewhat fragile young man who has spent his entire life under the protective care of his two beloved personal servants — the dim but well-meaning Stanley and the pompous but equally devoted Oliver. When Daniel receives his draft notice and is called up for military service at Camp Dobie, his loyal servants are horrified at the thought of their beloved master being exposed to the hardships, dangers, and rough company of army life.

Determined to continue protecting Daniel at all costs, Stanley and Oliver enlist in the army themselves and manage to get assigned to the same training camp. Their plan is simple: shadow Daniel constantly, shield him from every discomfort, and ensure that his transition to military life is as smooth and painless as possible. The reality, predictably, is anything but simple.
