Plot Summary

The stolen cattle are disappearing without trace, and the ranchers are facing financial ruin as their herds are systematically depleted by an enemy they cannot see.

Hopalong Cassidy is called in to investigate when the situation becomes desperate. Recognising that traditional law enforcement methods have failed because the gang’s organisation is too tight and too well protected by informants, Hoppy devises a daring plan: he will go undercover, disguising his identity and infiltrating the criminal organisation from the inside.

Adopting a new persona, Hoppy makes contact with the gang’s lower-level operatives and begins to work his way into their confidence.
