Plot Summary

Professor Donald Blake is a highly respected biology professor at Dunsfield University, a man of science, reason, and quiet decency. His orderly academic life revolves around his research, his students, and his loving relationship with his fiancée Madeline. When the university receives a rare specimen of a coelacanth — a prehistoric fish long thought extinct until its rediscovery in 1938 — Blake is thrilled. But the coelacanth has been preserved using a gamma radiation technique, and its blood carries extraordinary properties.
